It is a 15mm adapter normally used to attach a Follow Focus Gear to the rig without the need of a baseplate system and is perfect for lightweight Gimbal use! 

The durable aluminum rod clamp attaches to the cage with the two included 1/4"-20 mounting screws, and a blue locking thumbscrew tightens around a separately available 15mm rod.
